I am a novice to fixing anything mechanical but would be interested in doing this myself and would guess a garage would be an expensive option...

I bought a kawasaki BN125 eliminator a little while back, I have lately noticed the bike 's poor performance when opening the throttle so decided to take a look at the air filter.

I don't think this has ever been looked at in it's 5 year life. Can't even remove the side panel, screws completely rusted on so tried WD-40, impact screwdriver, easy-outs etc... ended up snapping the panel off. The air box is in a similar state, can't get a single screw out...

Somebody suggested it might be better taking the whole thing out and fitting a K&N filter.

I have no experience in this or how to get the rusted screws out with a drill and I am looking for advice on

1. how to drill out the rusted screws to remove the air box (and what's left of the side panel)

2. how to fit the K&N filter - how difficult is it to do?

ANy help would be appreciated, I can post pics or service manual if required
