I am trying to put a new crank in a Aprilia RS50. I have never worked on one of these before. The bike is on a 56y plate, and it dosent have a AM6 engine. I belive from searching the internet it has a MY06 engine. Am I correct, in this. Also I cannot find any workshop manuals for this bike. Does one exist any where.

I have started pulling the engine apart, but I am stuck as to how to remove the little pin on a shaft next to the crank, behind the clutch.I think its the counter weight. Any advice will be very helpful.

There will be a manual about, but you will need to ask in the appropriate thread. The engine no. is right, they are used in Derbi's also...fairly easy to pull one apart.

Ok crank fitted eventually.

I have got the engine in the frame, but I cant get it started. I am unsure where the 4 wires from the generator go in to the ignition coil, as these were disconnected when I got the bike. If any one could post a picture it would be very helpful. I am getting a spark, I think its a little weak, but there is a spark. I have tried to do a compression test but I can get my tester in under the frame, so it would mean removing the air box. But saying that I have fitted a new piston and rings and a second-hand barrel, which is in god condition.

Is there a right and wrong way to fit the reed valves?

Yep did that first.

Can someone check these images to see if I have put the wires in the correct places. These are the wires from the generator
