Steering Damper/ Harris Kit Fitting

I just picked up a Ohlins Steering Damper and Harris fitting kit but have no idea about the mounting, cant seem to find any guides online...

Looks the same mounting method as the ohlins dampers l had on my 954 fireblades.

The bracket with the large diameter hole goes under the steering yoke nut (sits on top the the yoke) and the other bits normaly allow you to connect the damper to the from fuel tank mount, easy to do but hard to explain.

Yeah i see what you mean about 50%, it sits on the yoke and proves two rear mounting points, also reckon the bit on the far right connects to the bearing end of the damper, i might just order new headrace bearings and take the lot into get done...

All fitted and working, took some time to figure out were all the bits went without a manual but got it in the end.

What happened there? Just loss of balance or stalled? Having short legs I've done this loads of times. Dumbest was deciding to let the bike free wheel down a hill, backwards. I was fine until I tried to turn the corner. Embarassed

What happened was being short and not pointing it in the direction i intended to go.

I dont think it stalled, just lost balance...

At least the its not only tatters that gets to laugh at it... Embarassed

Hopefully just your pride and dignity scuffed and the bike has no damage

When I saw the vid I wondered if it was the damper that caused it
Looked similar to a no speed drop I made when I forgot the steering lock was on

OT - Tatters have we met?
(I bought a DR250 engine off eBay from a guy in West Molsey a few months ago and came over and collected it)
If so Thumbs Up

barrel /piston and top end fitted I'm back up and running like a dream

The damper dident cause it, a contributing factor no doubt. As the steering feels very different. I did go for a ride after the embarrassment at tatter's and am more confortable with it now.

I think what that was is simply a fail. New ish clutch, short legs, stupid angle to pull away from and not enough revs.

Havent dropped a bike in years so i guess i was due...

Why couldent i have done it 10 meters up the road out of view of that bloody camera... Brick Wall

Gutted about the drop lol. Did it do much damage?

Bit OT but what sort of camera setup have you got on your driveway tatters? Looking for one for mine but not sure what to go for and prices etc.
