right ive just bought a used pcIII for my 08 R1.
its been used on a race bike so i want to put one of the custom maps off the dynojet site onto it.

-what map can i use?its stock apart from de-cat/y-pipe

also in the map list on the site it lists european models then always lists o2 sensor removed.why remove it?

So for why remove the O2 sensor. My understanding was that it leads to more consistent fuelling. The PCIII works by adding a correction factor to the amount of fuel entering the engine. If that fuel level is always the same then I would have thought it would give you more consistant fuelling. With the O2 sensor still connected the ECU will be trying to adjust the fuelling for the cleanest burn, then the PCIII comes along and corrects the fuelling again based in it's correction factor. Could lead to some odd running I would say.

This is the Dynojet answer I stole from a forum


"The o2 sensor should be disconnected so that the Power Commander can tune the normally closed loop areas of the engine range. We do this for every bike and don't normally note it on the map files. Our European tuners might want to note it on their map descriptions. There is no need for an o2 sensor eliminator on this model bike. You can simply unplug the stock o2 sensor."

Thanks for the reply. So to confirm. I'm not harming the engine in anyway by disconnecting the o2 sensor?
