Hi guys
Got a aerox 100. Was running last year, starter motor packed in and it was parked up for ages inside. New starter fitted, carbs completely cleaned, new plug, fully charged battery, new fuel.
Started today on first press and it ticked over nicely, good sound from engine, happy days! Switched off and the brute hasn't started since. Noticed the needle valve on the float is a bit pitted and the float levels are 14mm, supposed to be 15 to 17 so sort of think mmm ok?
battery went flat trying to start so used fully charged car battery and it looks like it killed the new starter motor. The spark when kicking or using electric is not fantastic in my opinion but I'm not sure what is should be like on a wee bike. I do think the compression is fine and there's lots of resistance when kicking. The fuel on the plug is a tad oily but as it's a two Stoke I think this is right?
I'm at dead end and need some help if possible. Could this be piston ring issue, shit coil, needle valve/float? It's an 02 bike so I don't think it's worth spending a lot on. Any ideas please? |
