I'm new at this biking marlarky. I've inherited my bro's suzuki gz125 and took it out for a spin last nite but struggled to put it into any gear. Thought initially it may be that my Dr Martins weren't sturdy enough or maybe may ankle was weak! There's loads of play on the clutch handle (it can be wiggled well) and takes the strength of ten grizzly-bears to shift into any gear. and wondering whether I can adjust the clutch myself or should I take it into a fixer's? It's an 06 plate and it's a little battered (the poor thing) and know that I need to get a new one but in the meantime, I'd like to use it for doin my 60 mile trip to work everyday. Cheers

Doing it yourself will take minutes, wether it fixes the problem or not is another matter, the adjuster is right next to the clutch lever and unscrews where the cable exits, unscrew it to move the biting point away from the lever until you have the required play specified in the manual(normally a couple of millimetres) if you move it too far out the clutch will slip during normal operation so always leave enough play. if you run out of adjustment screw it all the way back in and take some slack out at the other end of the cable(follow it down to the clutch cover).
