Best bet is to not waste £ on buying a new fairing but take the old one and repair it (if its repairable) use fibre glass and sand it down till its as smooth as the rest.....

key to painting preperation!

if its just 1 panel i would say you should spend at least 1 hour preparing it.....and dont just dry sand wet sand it too...cant remember the exact routine i used but i prepared my bike to be sprayed to save £ on the shop spraying it....

dont quite see what you mean by its out of shape :S pictures maybe of the broke and fixed one ?

most of my panels had cracks in, im sure you could find a way to put them together to fibre glass them ? use a clamp? or even tape one side while fibre glassing the other side and middle? you could most likley even super glue (inbetween the crack to hold it together) then fbre glass the rest of it Very Happy hope this was helpful or informative Wink

p38 is just filler.
fibre glass kits can be bought frm halfrauds & the like, which contains matting, resin & hardner.
messy stuff to work with though.
you mix up the resin with a little hardner & stipple the matting into a sticky mess which can then be used to fill big holes or spaces (aluminium mesh can be used for extra strength).
when its dry you trim the excess off & then smooth over with filler (like p38)
theres plenty of on-line "how to's" & guides available.
cheers,
GAZ
