its a 97 with not a scratch on it, looked on ebay and its a bit of a confusing result, they seem to go for anything between 700-1600 !?!?! |
Any decent working bike these days fetches generally over a grand. Off-roady style (not my cup of tea, but desirable nonetheless) fetches a more as it's not a dull-as-dishwater basic commuter machine.
If it's genuinely mint, i'd be thinking the top end of that, especially if you have patience to wait for someone willing to pay the higher price for something that's been so well looked after (they're out there).
The thing is, i wouldn't place much value at all on a non-runner that's got too big an engine for the frame. If the frame isn't already dying, it probably will! (that's assuming it doesn't snap suddenly and kill you). And that's only after you've taken it apart, found all the other odd engine/misc bits that need replacing too, and spent the £££ and time on them.
If it's been done properly, and the frame suitably reinforced, then the prospect becomes more enticing. But i just don't see that being the case. And besides which, if you want a 600cc engine, why not cut the hassle and buy a bike that's designed for it? ____________________ -- Ingah
