i lost my key for my FZR400
now i am using the spare i have a phobia of losing it
can i get a spare cut at 1 of them little key cutting shops or would i have to go to a yamaha dealer?

All depends on the shop. Some do them, others don't . I've had bike ignition keys cut at a keycutters in the past, long time ago though.

I had 2 done at the DIY shop last week, they didn't ask for ID or anything which I found rather disturbing, they'll cut it as long as it doesn't say "do not duplicate" on it, which It's very unlikely to do so

yeah, had my NSR key cut the other day...
had "Honda" all over it and they didnt even batter an eyelid...
