Hey guys a couple of months ago i bought a stebel TM80 horn off ebay for like a tenner.
There wasn't a relay with the horn but in the 'not so helpful' diagram it showed one fitted so i thought best to get one to be safe (For an insane price of £7.50 Shocked ).

Now, the horn wont work with the set up its had since i put it in. it has been fine up until now. I bypassed the wiring and it worked (Loud too Laughing )
Monday morning i was on the motorway for around 120 miles, all of which it as chucking it down im not sure if perhaps water has got into the relay connections and blown something??? It worked fine the next morning but that night it sounded like it was trying to work with the ignition off, then early the next morning it went off by itself then stopped! Laughing

So basically, what i've done for the moment, is i've disconnected the extra wiring completely and connected the new horn straight to the old switch, it works fine but wanted to make sure here before i take out the extra wiring completely.
Just a little info on the horn, Its 12v, 5.5A and has a 20A in line fuse in the circuit.
The relay does make a clicking sound when you hit the switch but does naff all.
So, does it really need a relay??? Is my bike posessed??? Laughing
Cheers guys Wink Karma

I didn't fit mine with a relay, and the guy I gave it to didn't fit one on his bike either.

Well thats sorted then! Very Happy Just out of interest, is yours the TM80? I believe they come as a set (One high, one low) perhaps thats what a relay would be needed for Thinking

Might take the relay back to where i got it, hopefully i can find the reciept Laughing

Cheers Thumbs Up

No, mine was a nautilus, came with a relay which I never used. I gave it to a guy who put it on a 125 and it still worked ok.

Haha yeah i thought that. Ran really well though, kept it between 70-80 the whole way with no problems (Other than losing half a litre of oil ofcourse Laughing )
