 |
|
hi guys I have a few problems with my 1987 Honda CB350S-G the head gasket sprang a leak a few months back and I went to fix it n snapped a few head bolts whilst trying to undo them and re-tighten them back to there proper torques whilst trying to pull the heads and barrels after doing this (trying to retrieve the snapped studs to replace them) i found that they wouldnt budge ive tryed alot of things (shocking it free.... didnt work, leavering it... didnt work no room to put any thing underneath, so im considering in an engine swap (CB350s engines are hard to get hold of in the uk and so are the CB450S engines, same frame and engine with a bigger displacement) i just wondered what would slot straight in as GPZ500S engines look ever so similar i just dont know any dimensions help please ____________________ If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you |

cheers for the heads up bagger, only thing is the guy dont know if it has any compression left lol as far as the description says and i was also wondering what other engines fit as i liked the frame and seating position of the cb350s but ive never liked the rarity of some of the parts lol at one point i even emailed honda asking if they knew where i could get hold of parts that was a laf there reply was "urrm well the last time we heard of any cb350s sale was in spain" lol helpful and ive heard of the heat gun way steve ive never thought that was 100% sensible lol mind you ive never tryed it lol ____________________ If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you |

Many parts may well have been discontinued, i tried to get a gasket once and was told they no longer sold it!
Finding a cb 450s engine is a no go haha! Dont think that bike was ever sold in this country A while back there were quite a few 350 engines on ebay, maybe just keep looking. superdream engines are similar so could be do-able
Good luck anyways mate ____________________ First bike: 1982 Suzuki Gs 125 'The beast MK1' > 1988 Honda Cb 350's' FOR SPORT! (Good ol' oil burner!) > 2001 Suzuki Sv 650 's' Made it out of the 80's! > 1997 Honda Cbr 600f :p |

mmn i was thinking along the lines of an upgrade engine u know make the bike a bit better seeing as the engine has gone lol and yeah i could take it to a bike shop or an engineering place but wouldn't be worth doing as it would be expensive i mean i did have a custom straight through exhaust on the bike before its engine gave up sounded really nice (feked.com megaphone welded to a spare motad replacement silencer i got off ebay... also gave the bike more torque ) superdream engines are ultra reliable i know but there hardly fast machines as they are so u get the idea haha was thinking at one point a carbed SV650 (btw i wouldnt be too fussed bout rad mounts there not to hard to make, and seeing the cb350s has a oil cooler kinda makes sense ) ____________________ If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you |
