Does anyone know what and how this bike does to prevent hot-wiring? There's a box called an anti-theft device on the wiring diagram.

Story is, my mate bought a bike that had a botched hot-wire attempt and can't get a spark despite replacing the ECU with another chinky bike one.

What does the anti-theft device actually do - besides flash the indicators and make a noise? Is there supposed to be a fob or something? Got the wiring diagram from the wiring thread but there's no obvious function for that box.

From that diagram is appears to only have one connection to the CDI which I presume disables the CDI. The rest just go to various lights and so on. If I were you, I would try cutting that wire from the CDI to the Anti theft system just too see what happens.

What is this 'Anti theft system'? Is it just a plastic box with some wires coming from it? if so, try and open the box too see what it contains. It could just be some simple TTL or PIC or something. Worth a look anyway...

I wouldn't know a ttl from pic so that wouldn't help me anyway.
What would be most helpful to me is if someone who has a bike with this system could disconnect the white and black wire from cdi to anti-theft and see if that allows the bike to start or not.

It's likely to be a fairly simple device. Try with the wire removed, then try earthing the wire, then try running a live feed to it. Probably worth trying on the old ECU first in case you knacker it.

Looks like an alarm So there should be a keyfob.

A very quick look at the diagram shows the BL/W wire going from the ignition to the kill switch and alarm suggesting that this is the immobiliser wire from the alarm. The W/BL from the CDI is fed from the alarm so my thinking is that this should either be earthed or powered based on a relay inside the alarm.

The r/bl from the magneto to the CDI suggests power down this wire so I going for an earth on W/BL.

Probably wrong Laughing
