Looks like a GSXR rider has had a particularly bad thursday morning, accident investigators at the scene currently.

Hope if he's a member here, that he's not too badly broken.

From the Metro website:

"Unfortunately the lady who was in the accident, who is a colleague of mine, died last night at 10.30. She was a real character and a talented barrister. She will be missed. AB"

Obviously my thoughts go out to the woman's family and the motorcyclist.

However i do take issue with the way the accident it is reported. "after a motorbike hit a female pedestrian". I dont know any of the facts and it may be the case the it was the biker's fault, but by saying "after a motorbike hit a female pedestrian" I makes it sound like its the bikers fault, when I'm pretty sure when this was written, the full facts weren't known. Surely 'a motorcycle and pedestrian were involved in an collision' or something similar is more appropriate.

They would say similar if it was a car. They are just stating a fact.

We will find out the full facts as to why it happened and who was at fault eventually.

Bike == at fault by default. You know that's the way it works. Sad

What I said would apply if it was a car as well, ie. "a car hit a pedestrain". I know its the usually was of writing it, i just think it suggests that the person that 'hit' the other person was to blame.
Please don't think I'm saying it was the pedestrains fault either, i just think that the way it was written suggested that one person, (the biker) was to blame, when they didn't know at the point it was written.

I agree with you, but they want to grab peoples attention and using the headline "bike hits pedestrian" does the job (and it is a true fact)

Looks like it's the pedestrian who was killed, not the biker.

In the middle of rush hour, outside London Bridge station? Of course we don't have the facts, but commuters often seem to have the self preservation skills of lemmings.

I think you're reading too much into this, tbh. "Pedestrian hits motorcyclist" sounds mental. It's a bit like "Nail hits hammer".

I don't think it apportions blame or implies fault. It's just physics.
