Mornin!
Could do with some advice. Anyone used a universal fit baffle? Do they actually reduce the volume by much?

I love my can! But its too loud for my 5.30-6.00am commute. Living in a small town in terraced housing with a cop for a neighbour I'd like to quieten my bike to an acceptable level before any complaints or actions taken.

Luckily I've been on nightshifts recently so leaving at 7pm I can make as much noise as I want & riding home at 5am I can stick it in a high gear and roll quietly through town. Back on days shortly Sad

Anyway back to the point, will adding baffles significantly reduce the noise levels?
What if any other effects will that have on the bike? exhaust back pressure, fuelling etc
Would I be better off just buying a 2nd hand OEM silencer/muffler + new gasket etc?

& finally what type of baffle is best?
I've found 3 main options

Any other suggestions?

& since this post would be useless without pics Mr. Green ...

Always got complaints with the car... tried a baffle, didnt work.

I would assume the bike ones are slightly better... the cure would be to take it easy leaving your estate.

I got tugged once for excessive noise...think the cop got a bit confused.. said as it was an import he couldnt do anything Question It was pre cat testing as well.. so straight through 3.5 inch pipe to a 4inch box Laughing

Thanks Paddy! Thumbs Up

I've bought a baffle & an original 2nd hand can in good nick. Smile
I'll try the baffle 1st if its no good, I'll swap to the standard can.
