Hi all

2 things firstly wanted to say hi to everyone. Im 24 and from manchester and have never ridden a bike in my life. Im looking at booking my cbt in a few weeks and have been looking at 125cc's.

Secondly and here comes the slating. I have been looking at the usual candidates cbf125 ybr125 etc and have come accross thw keeway RKV. yes i know its chinese owned and yes some of there older models have been plagued with problems but this is a well speced, cheap to buy bike that comes with 2 years warranty.

I couldnt find much info on the bike on english sites but managed to find a bit more on french and spanish and the ratings seem to be good.

I know the general concensus is dont buy chinese but surely there has to be a point where this will change.

Talking to a bloke in yamaha chorley (granted a salesman) he reckons these are at least 80% better than anything thy have made before.

Does anyone have any experiance or opinions with these bikes.

Thanks in advance

Hi mate, welcome.

You will be told to avoid, it will rust, bits fall off and so on.

You will lose money on it, even if it lasts 2 years when you come to sell it on.

They will get better, it's just are they getting better now?

£1100 on the road-ish then or a half decent 2nd hand Jap bike for similar money OR shop around privately and pick a 125cc for £600-£800-ish that will give you a year or 2 practice before your test.

I'd go the Jap route and indeed did/have but tbh I did contemplate the Chinese idea but was put off by all the Nay Sayers. No smoke without fire, right?
Being noobs we have to listen to the advice of those in the know, it's up to us if we want to take it... Thumbs Up
