Hey people!
Im having a bit of a problem with my clutch at the moment.
I was out on the rode when my clutch cable snapped. fortunately i was able to get another one to replace it.
However i came across problems when doing so. I noticed that no matter what position the cable was adjusted to i could still change gear without using the lever.......
I thought to myself maybe the cables to tight so i completely slackened it off and found that i could still change gear without touching the lever.
Maybe its the gearbox/clutch itself i thought so i put it into gear and it acts like it should do, not slipping and acting like a gearbox should.

So heres my questions,
Could it be the cable? ( i highly doubt as it wasnt attached and i could still change gear)
Could it be a problem with the gearbox/clutch itself?
Is there something im missing?

Cheers.

Change gears w/out the clutch, can you still move in first? Wink Cable is too short, clutch is always semi-engaged in your case.

You can change gears without the clutch, provided you blip the throttle, or when the bike's at idle. Again, does the bike move with clutch engaged? (without the cable) Wink It doesn't take much to disengage the clutch, could be a stuck bracket that does it, could be the springs, although I highly doubt it. You might want to take off the clutch case, cool down the engine beforehand and make make sure you drain the residual oil left when you crack 'er open.

Make sure all the adjusters have been slackened off and readjusted. A new cable is likely to be much shorter as it has not stretched yet.

He said he had fully removed the cable and the bike still doesn't dance. Confused OP, care to elaborate further on the issue?
