Does the thundercat have a centre stand? I can't remember.

If it does stick it on that then lift the front. If not you could try some axle stands underneath the forks.

Get a breezeblock, put it on the right of the bike. Lift the bike onto the stand and then with it still in the air, lean down and put the breezeblock under the exhaust/sump.

or use a breakerbar/crowbar and axle stands/breezeblocks on both sides.

Loosen the bolts on the front wheel first. Makes more sense than when it's unstable

There's no centre stand on the Cat.

I put mine on two axle stands - one under each fork leg.

Alternatively a rope and garage rafters.

You could put something under the exhaust but the downpipes on these can be ropey and you'll be better taking the fairing off to get a good access to the pipes.

Or maybe someone on the Thundercat forum has a front stand and lives near you.

I did consider a rope option (or my dad has a forklift!!)

the axle stands sound good, but how do you lift the bike onto the stands?

Ill check out the thundercat forum, thanks for the replies!!

I think I put one under the right hand one with the bike on its side stand, then leant it over to the right and popped one under the other side.

Or maybe I put the front wheel on some wood, put the rear on a paddock stand, put the axle stands in place then pulled the wood out.

Can't remember - was a while ago.

i put the bike on the side stand and use a scissor jack and a piece of wood for padding under the down pipes and lift the front end that way

Yep, when I was lifting the front to do my forks, i went with a small trolley jack with a piece of wood under the headers after putting the bike on the read paddock stand. I then placed two axle stands under the sump.

Under there you will find two pins (cant think of a better word for it) at the front of the sump. I rested the pins on the top of my axle stands and lowered the jack slightly to share the load between the 3 points.

Solid as a rock Smile
