Depends what you intend on doing tbh.

if you are going with mates for a cheap piss up it will be different thant going for posh meals and boat trips with your bird.

I generally spend 3-500 a week when abroad depending on how much I do.

I hated Turkey when I went though, have only been to various cities and greek Islands before and the money grabbing tactics in Turkey pissed me off. Things like a £10 "visa" to enter the country, an 8% exchange TAX (not fee but a TAX) and the rope you in tactics of the tossers working for restaurants in the popular areas which basically amounted to begging you to come in. This was marmaris though so the quieter resorts should be considerably more pleasant. Sounds crude but my opinion of Islam was not helped by the trip and it was somewhat less than favourable beforehand.

(Even though racism refers to ethnicity of people rather than any religious body I feel that I should add that I fundamentally detest all organised religions equally before the retards shout racism.)

If you are going to Marmaris then get used to telling people to fuck off, the best restaurant we found was not only the most full but also one of the few that didnt have a door bitch hassling people - Natalies steak house on the beach; best thing on the menu was a perfectly done Bearnaise fillet steak for less than £8 when I went a few years ago.

Either way, take plenty with you and enjoy yourself Thumbs Up .

I'd take about £100 in foreign currency then use a cash machine afterwards.

Agree Laughing
Marmaris is in my top 3 of worst places to be hassled, the other two are Marrakesh and just about any touristy area in Thailand.
Marrakesh is number one as the scams, hassling were more aggressive and just relentless in the main square.

I'd just take a small amount of cash and use the cash machine as well, it might cost you a few quid but it beats carrying loads of cash.
I went a while ago but I remember some places were selling a fry up for about a quid and going out drinking was pretty cheap if you stuck to local drinks. That might have changed though as I went 7-8yrs ago. But I remember it seeming cheap compared to any countries using the euro.

I think I took about £100, and topped up when needed from cash point. I don't remember how much I spent, but it wasn't much because I met an old bored hippie who took me on trips for free. Bonus! Saved me a shed load of money, and my mate didn't spend much either as she spent her days frazzling her skin next to the pool.

We went to Altinkum...it was a grotty version of Blackpool on heat.

At least I learnt how to say 'goodbye you are going now' in Turkish. And it worked like a bloody dream. Cool
Gule gule (accompanied with a wave)

Choc Pa-hala! (emphasis at the end) means 'How Expensive!' That wards off the hassle from the traders...

Hayir means NO.

Yar Un means tomorrow, just in case you get bored of saying no.

Speaking their lingo works better than saying it in English. Thumbs Up

When we went to Rhodes self catering for a week, me and the girlfriend took 350 each so 700 and this was enough for 3 meals out every night and drinks most nights.

Plus visits to waterpark and Lindos and Rhodes town etc. And also got us 400 fags each.

£300 should be fine in Turkey. Do not however buy food in the Airport, its a complete rip off.

We usually take 200 euros cash and the rest we put on a Thomas cook cash card thing. And withdraw 200/300 euros when we have used the cash.

Cash withdrawals were 1 euro 50 per transaction.

Turkeys cheaper than Greece so you will be fine.
