Oh yeah, mucho kudos and Karma for Maurice for helping me wheel the thing home. Thumbs Up

Basically, going along straight-ish road, lots of parked cars on my side of the road, but still plenty of room for 2 cars (so definately for a bike and a car) and I'm on my side of the road...approach junction on the left, only going 30-40 ish (I know the road, and I'm not an idiot). See Fiesta waiting to pull out, but not pulling out, so I carry on going. As I pass the front of the car - BOOOOM! T-Bone-age.

I allegedly went flying about 25 metres along the road (not in a single bound) whilst avoiding my head and back (must've been all those years of watching Jackie Chan). Knees are f*cked, but nothing broken...but starting to get major pains in parts of my hands and shoulders.

Not looking forward to the morning.

The hospital won't give me any crutches - does anyone know where I can borrow one from?

Sounds like a similar thing to me except from the other side :S

They are just blind idiots who have no consideration for bikes just big box things.

Sorry to hear it. Any witnesses?

Dunno if you're joking or not but you're welcome to have mine. Is the fiesta bloke's insurance going to pay for the damage then?

Well, it isn't gonna be a lucky year for me apparently (but I'll try not to believe in that), so I'll probably end up getting screwed over. But if I do get any compo, it'll go towards paying the bike off. I doubt that I'd be getting another road bike for a while (respecting the wishes of others), if everything goes well, I'll try to make a track bike out of the CBR.

No, I'm not joking, so If you can stick into the back of a parcel van as soon as poss, I'll pay you back etc.

Funnily enough, the driver was female...and a nurse...she was all apologetic etc, but everything has been left to the police. I can't see how I can be at fault, unless they say that I'm speeding or something (which they probably will), but again, I'm not holding my breath. I blame the stupid array of parked cars more than the driver to be honest - there was actually a collision involving 3 cars in exactly the same spot not long ago.

The police told me to ring a number after 10 working days, and they'll let me know what the decision is (or how much longer I'll have to wait)...let's just hope that the person making the decision isn't a Jeremy Clarkson fan...

Well I can't comment on the outcome but they have 3 months to make a decision. They got abck to me after 2 months and 29 days :S

Were there any witnesses? if not then they'll find you innocent. Same thing happened to my dad (except he was the fiesta driver) the woman (in your position) that took the front of his car off was speeding but my dad still got done for not looking. I wouldn't worry you are not at fault the woman is.

Shit! Sorry to hear about that TiN {{}}

If a driver pulls out of a side road into you, they are ALWAYS at fault.

I just got my compo through from when I got T-Boned... but it did take nearly 2 years to get to me Sad but the guy was uninsured so I guess I was loucky to get anything at all - but I did Thumbs Up

Hope you get it all sorted soon!

Take some nice strong painkillers!

Doh! Sad Shit Tin that looks bad. Glad you are reasonably okay and hope everything turns out okay. It sounds like there is no way you can be found to be at fault and if the driver of the fiesta was all apologetic it sounds like she knows she did wrong and will probably accept liability. Praying
Get well soon mate.

Hi,

Bad luck mate. Just one question, having just seen your new avatar, does this mean the bike's a write off Question Thinking

Anyway, sorry to hear about this. It seems that there has been a boom in crashes on here recently Sad

Cheers,

Will
