I noticed recently that the luggage rack / top box seemed to be a little loose, so when I removed the luggage rack ready to rub the rack down and repaint, I also took the tail piece off the Bandit to take a look.
One tiny clunk noise later, I found that one of the four threaded bosses that accepts the grab handle bolts has cracked around the weld.
I'll try to upload a pic when I get home, but I was just wondering if I could re-weld the boss, and/or put some metal plate around it to strenthen the new join??

(Bearing in mind that my arc welding skills (?) to date are functional rather than aesthetic at best).

Anyone else had a similar problem??

Yep, I was thinking, maybe a few small drilled holes in order to do some extra plug/puddle welds....
However I think I'd still be paranoid about how secure my welding would be until I'd tested it for a few hundred miles.. Rolling Eyes
