Find the choke lever which is on the carburettor (round the back of the engine on the left side of the bike from the perspective of a rider sitting on it). It's a little black lever. You pull it out towards the engine and it'll click into place. Key in ignition, turn it to the 12-o-clock position so it lines up with 'on'. Then either use the kickstart or electric starter (button on the right side of handlebars) and once the engine splutters a bit open the throttle a little at the same time.

Let it idle for a while and watch the revs, once they go around the 4'000 rpm mark, push the choke lever back towards the carb and the engine should idle happily at around 1'000 to 1'500 rpm.

thanks, thats helpfull. but the problem is that the key wont turn fron off to on.

anyway my brother solved it after. turns out you have to push it in slightly while turning it (not in all the way like when applying the lock). its fussy but it works.

Ok... a bit of light oil like 3-in-1 down the key hole (put some on the key itself and work it in/out) will work wonders.
