As big as you want but it needs to be restricted to 33bhp.

Common bikes to restrict are 600cc sports bikes like the CBR then things like hornets, bandits, sv650 or smaller bikes like the CB500 and gs500 (smaller bikes restrict a little better).

33bhp is enough to see you going about 100mph.

Any of the above will be faster, cheaper in the long run and more reliable than a modified chinese 125. Also, L plates are gay Very Happy .

Anything as long as it doesn't make more than 33bhp.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

its common practice to take your A2 on 125 at 17

DSA Website wrote:
A sub-category A2 motorcycle a solo motorcycle between 121 and 125 cc.

They must be capable of more than 62.5 mph (100 km/h)

If you pass your test on this sub-category of motorcycle you can ride motorcycles with a power output of no more than 25 kilowatts. That's the same as 33 brake horse power. This restriction will last for two years.

After two years the restriction will end automatically. You can then ride a motorcycle of any engine size and power output.

Its probably worth also looking round for bike that have already been restricted like SV's or bandits and the like, that way it would give a bit of longevity as you can ride it till your restriction runs out then take the restrictors out and it will be like a new bike again

Sell your bike, buy something with a bigger engine after doing test. How hard is that? It doesn't have to be a ninja. You can get a decent SV650 for £1500, more than likely you'll find something already restricted.

do your test and then buy what you like, fuck that 33bhp kit bullshit, everyone on here is far too paranoid about the filth, unless you have to provide proof to the in surers why ruin a decent bikes performance?i done my "restricted" licence at 17 then went and bought an rg250 straight away followed by a couple nc30's.i had a gsxr 750 wp when i was 19.unless you live somewhere where the coppers are total cunts, most dont know their arse from their elbow when it comes to bikes and restrictions.
