Hi folks,
I hope someone can help here. I just bought a 53 plate Speedfight 2 100cc. Put on a new battery and fired it up. After 3or 4 mins of insane noise (the exhaust is not fitted) I killed thr engine and then tried to restart. It backfired a couple of times and then the kick start lever jammed in the up position. It's really jammed and I don't want to force it. The e-start does not work either but then it never did. The bike had been stood under a sheet for 5 years but I lubed the pot and the crank case and turned the engine over a good few times with the spark plug out then left it a few days before repeating the process. Apart from being loud without the exhaust the engine sounded quite good. It would be a shame if there's a problem with the kick start mechanism but without stripping it down I'm a bit lost for ideas. Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

Cheers

Possible siezure? I know you turned it over, but would running without an exhaust lean it out a fair bit?
