I was issued a ticket for no insurance today, whilst keeping the officer busy i had a family member insure the bike. Saving it from being towed and crushed. Anyway the officer filled out the ticket wrong in a few areas.

1) wrong cc of bike, the cop put down 125cc instead of 250cc (its a 238cc technically)

2) the cop ticked off the L plates box saying it had them, when its a 250... it doesn't need L plates and it doesn't have them either.

3) My birth day on the form looks like a 19, when im born on the 29th.

is this enough grounds to dismiss the £200 fine and 6 points ??

Nothing there that will help you.
Taking it to court on those grounds would cost you way more.
Uninsured is uninsured, the magistrates would dismiss the errors.

i should of got the stupid piggy to fill out the ticket time at 5:01pm when he wrote it, not the time he pulled me over (3:59pm). If he had done that i would of been clear because my insurance come into action at 5:00pm.

The time of the offense will be reported as before the insurance was purchased, which you cannot disprove and I hope you get ass-raped for it.

That is all.

thanks for taking the cops side. that one cop is a real assh0le. Hes pulled me over several times just for the hell of it and had no reason too. He also goes after any motorcycle that does the slightest thing wrong. He said he pulled me over because i didn't have any L plates on a 250. And he has pulled over a few of my friends on bikes again for nothing, trying to find reasons to write tickets.

Im happy to pay the 200 for the look on that pigs face when he found out i insured it under his nose and he couldn't tow it. His face went red, you could see the blood boiling.

Ditto.

Anyone who knowingly rides or drives uninsured deserves having the book thrown at them.

He might have pulled you and your friends many times for no reason, but on this occasion you had no insurance, that alone makes you an UTTER TWAT.

Its people like you that put the rest of our insurances up, bottom line is if you cant afford insurance, dont ride the fucking bike.

And FYI, I was within 200foot from my house, i was going to the local petrol station to get some air in my tyres. 1 lap around town, less than an eighth of a mile. I wasn't going on a road trip with it uninsured.

Are you thick?

He pulled because you showed up as having no fucking insurance - proven by you admitting it in your first post as you got a family member to do it for you.

What bike was it?

It's twats that ride/drive uninsured that cause a lot of problems. If you hit my car would you stop or fuck off leaving me to foot the bill?

I had one hit my truck several years ago, the only bonus was that he had to be cut out of what was left of his car and i was left unable to work for weeks and paying out my excess and losing my no claims because the selfish cunt didn't get insurance.

What if only 20 foot from you front door you knocked a kid over and crippled them for life?

How they going to manage financially(at minimum)?

Are you going to support their medical and physical needs?

You knowingly rode on the road uninsured and don't care - that is the fact here.
Cock.

I can afford insurance, but why pay a full year or month when your only going less than an eighth of a mile. I still have insurance on my Xl350 which i sold, and i still have insurance on my Mtx125r which is also sold. If i couldn't afford insurance i wouldn't of insured it when he pulled me over. He was just being an ass, he didn't pull me over because i didn't have insurance, he pulled me over for the hell of it thinking i had no L plates.

https://www.churchill.com/pressReleases/13062005.htm

"A report released today revealed that a third (32 per cent) of all car accidents happen within a mile of the driver's home and a further third within five miles."

I know the report states car accidents but I would wager that bikes are similar.

There should be no excuse at all for being on a public road u7ninsured. If it wasnt for idiots like the OP insurance costs for the rest of us law abiding riders/drivers would be lower - FACT.

your points will be there when you eventually get a UK License, which you'll have to change to sooner or later. If you're from an EU country, expect information to be shared to your home state.

I work at the ticket office for these kind of tickets... when they come to process your ticket, they will do a DVLA check under your name to find and put the offence your british licence I'm afraid...

Also if it's a foreign licence only, the points are endorsed on the system so when you get any other points a DVLA check will be done on it.

So you also have 2 licences?

Cant be arsed to look but I am fairly sure that cant be correct either (I stand to be corrected though Smile). I believe that you should have surrended your 'International' licence when you applied for the 'British' licence, that you dont drive on anyway Rolling Eyes

Have to agree with everyone is that you're a complete nob. You don't simply ride uninsured, but you justify it, complain about the police man doing his job (and a good job he did) and then try to wriggle out of it.

Congratufuckinglations, you're a twat. Thumbs Up

Nope i got my British license 3 years ago, and my American a year ago. The American drivers license bureau didn't ask me to surrender it, i just had to do a full test again.

Usually the condition of 'cross insurance' is that ALL bikes in question are insured by 'someone'.

This was not the case here.

With certain foreign licences you get to drive in the UK for a year, some 2 before trading for an English licence.

Why be so inconsiderate?

EDIT - so you will have 5 points awarded for no insurance on your British Licence. Karma

So what country did your uninsured ride take place in?

If it was here in the UK what on earth makes you think you can get away with 'using' your US Licence?
