Back wheel too small for my cg 125

I was just about to put my new back wheel on my cg 125 and noticed the rim on my old wheel was an inch wider. I gave the shop I got it from a call and they said the tyre should still fit. The wheel they ordered in was a chinese copy as well, but I guess since Honda stopped making the cg they'd have to be

An inch narrower?

10mm either way and the tyre should fit fine. More than that and it's pretty iffy, especially when the wheel's narrow in the first place.

My first suspicion would be that they're lazy lying mongs trying to fob you off, but it's best to rule out the alternatives.

Was the wheel on your bike original? Any chance that it was already a replacement with a over-wide rim, and now you've got one the right size?

How wide are the old and new rims?

What size tyre was / is on the old rim?

the old rim was 3 inches wide and the new one 2 inches. Not sure of the tyre size

According to this website a CG rim should be 1.85 inches wide.

Three inches is very wide. That's wider than the wheel on my TZR which is only 2.5 inches wide.
