Hi all,

Just looking for advice regarding some Alpinestars gear. I'm tempted by their SMX-5 WP but not sure if I should fork out the extra for their Goretex gear. It's about £80 difference.

Any thoughts or recommendations for long term users, how has your drystar technology gear stood up to the test of time? Would you pay extra for the Goretex?

tried drystar and dainese's D-Dry, they just don't last as long as goretex, so I try and get goretex when affordable

I have recently inherited some Drystar gloves from a chap at work. First impressions in a storm are that they're brilliant.


Can't recommend SMX5s highly enough, crashproof (they've seen two, one big one) and extremely comfy, good enough to walk quite a few miles at a BSB round anyway. I'm wearing mine right now Laughing

A mate of mine has a Drystar jacket, and it leaks water like a sieve.
Based on that, i would avoid.
