Hey guys so here we have my CCM engine Possible 250cc or 125cc unsure right now it runs and rides fine

While it was running i found something out.. I had the exhaust down pipe on so it didn't overhead around the outlet and there was like 80% exhaust fumes coming out of this Hole when at high revs

This Breather pipe thing fits onto it

I'm baffled.. at first i thought it a water inlet and the engine was water cooled but the fact that exhaust fumes are coming out and there is no other outlet on the engine proves it's not.

There was a dead gasket on there which crumbled when i took it off the engine is amazingly loud with this uncovered and will fail an MOT. My step dad thinks it could be some kind of power valve or where one used to be if it is can i blank it off? and send all the fumes through the exhaust?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Where did the bike come from? Is it road registered? Is it new enough to have emissions control?

(questions based on me having seen some continental type off-roaders which have just a dirty great exhaust bypass just like that attached to them)
