Just want to make sure this is normal but when I spin the back tyre by hand in neutral I can here like a rumble of the chain going over the front sprocket!!!

and some times when I change down gears and don’t blip the engine to match engine speed I get like a clanking noise like the chain is slipping on the sprocket it is on my cg 125 2001 I have set the chain tension to 20mm on centre stand as it says in the Haynes but this noise cant be normal
Thanks

chains do rumble.

the clanking noise might be it hitting the frame. When I got mine I didnt realise quite how often it would need adjusting!

also check the rear wheel is aligned ok, the frame markings are not accurate, and that its got plenty of lube.

Also 20mm sounds far too tight which can be bad.

I would say 30-45mm on my cg. Its suppost to be checked with somone sitting on it.

Yes.

Or you can use the notches on the rear adjuster, or count the number of threads exposed on the bolts, so long as both are the same it will usually be close enough.
