Tomorrow (Sat) is 11th anniversary of the death of Joey Dunlop, arguably the most successfull road racer of all time, with an incredible 26 TT wins to his name. There will be a tribute lap of the TT course here in the Isle of Man tomorrow. If you're out for a drink then raise your glass to the memory of Joey 'Yer Maun' Dunlop, the undisputed King Of The Roads.

Great man and a sad loss to the sport. Greatly missed by someone who grew up watching from the side of the road as he hammered around a few feet away from me.

I cant believe that was 11 years ago. Incredible. Met him at Alexandra palace once, he was with Philip Mcallan. Didnt understand hardly a word they said to me. Got both of their autographs though, which was cool.

Joey's tribute lap left the TT grandstand at 4.00pm and as usual there was a good turnout of local bikes plus a few who had travelled to the island specially for the event. The weather was brilliant and local people lined the course waving and cheering as the bikes went by, a sign of just how popular Joey Dunlop remains here in the Isle of Man.

The rideout was organised by the Joey Dunlop Foundation, a charity formed in Joey's name to provide accomodation for disabled visitors to the island. The foundation own the large house overlooking Braddan Bridge on the TT course, which has been converted to cater for the disabled and was officially opened by Joey's wife Linda Dunlop during TT week 2010.

we stayed at the jdf house back in march when we took the guy i help to look after over to see his family on the island.
it really is a good setup, great view of the corner from the balcony (shame there was no racing on!), loads of joey dunlop memorabilia in the house, and the guys who work there do it all volountarily.
if anyone on here is disabled, or knows someone disabled who is looking to go to the island, i can thouroghly recommend this place!
