Tank protectors can be removed with minimum damage if your careful. The hair drier approach works and I've heard a boiling hot wet towel also works well. There is a thread on here somewhere about removing one Right here
Crash bobbins, protectors what ever you want to call them have proven to be benificial at times. Theres a few guys that have dropped their bike at town speeds to find the only damage has been to the handlebar end weights, the pegs and the crash bobbins. They save a fortune in damaged fairings.
For a Bandit I'm sure you could go the whole hog and get an engine protector frame. They may be ugly and cumbersome looking but in the event of an off they will help.

I reckon it should be fine with the engine crash bars, provided they are the furthest sticking out object on the bike, bar the handle bar ends. They were made to protect in a crash, and i bet theyre sturdier then crash bobbins ____________________ A2 Passed 18/6/10 |
