I'm not sure how many of you know of Mordeth13 from Youtube, or give a damn about any of his videos. But his latest one > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1WXepcd-54 < was quite interesting.
I'll summarise. Basically he was riding a popular road in his area and noticed a lone guy with a camera taking pictures of bikers as they go past. On his way back, some 3 or 4 hours later, the guy was still there. He assumed it was some random guy who loves motorbikes and photography and left it at that.
He brings this up with two guys he met on a local racetrack and they tell him that it's like an organised setup. Basically they have amateur photographers set up on good roads taking pictures of every biker that goes past. Then they all upload them to a site just for the purpose of those riding to get, an action-shot of themselves, for free.
Thinking about it, this would be a pretty good idea. Do you think there is anything like this in the UK and is this something others think would be a good idea? Have you heard of anything like this before? ____________________ Ted : "Maybe he's agoraphobic."

I thought stuff happened like that around here, especially on something like the Cat and Fiddle. I'd love to get a pic of me riding, as I've never seen myself riding from another perspective, so to speak. ____________________ 2009 Yamaha YBR125 -> 2000 SV650S -> 2005 Kawasaki ZX6R 636 |

Judging by the amount of posers on bikes nowadays it should do quite well. I wish that digital cameras had come out about 20 years earlier, I really regret not having pics of my early bikes
I wanted to set up something similar with my son in Cambridge - taking pics of people on the hire punts. I worked for someone doing a similar thing in Paris and it was a real winner, the guy was minted within a couple of years. |

There is a guy who does this on Hartside pass.
There was a thing a while ago though where the police were taking pictures of bikes and their riders at and around bike meets to build a database of who was riding what and in what leathers. I think they've given up on that idea now though. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. You could just befriend a photographer. Everyone knows someone with an SLR these days, I've often gone out with mine taking photos of mates on their bikes. ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Problem is more that he's in the shade. I know it's not easy finding a sunny corner in the UK, particularly in summer ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

I had some weird fella stop in the middle of crossing the road and take a photo of me waiting at traffic lights.
About a quarter mile up the road was a police speed trap, I assume unrelated but was still a little unusual. As I was trying to figure out why some random fella took a photo of me I was going nice and slow when met with the speed gun . |
