Now, normally when you see a thread on BCF or any other car/bike forum titled 'Insurance', it is normally a page-long rant about some companies incompetence and how they have been messed about or fucked over by the said company.
However today I called my insurance to sort out a few problems, and I was very, very, very impressed with their service.
The company in question is named Dial Direct. I found them on thebikeinsurer website and they were the cheapest for both my motorcycles at only £70 for each of them.
Today I called the company on a Sunday of all days, followed their automated messages and pressed #3. Got straight through to 1 of their operators (no waiting or being left on hold) who was an English woman who I understood very well and who also understood me with no problems at all. (I have a big problem dealing with foreign call centres!)
I told her I wanted to cancel my policy; she asked why. I told her I had sold the bike. She did exactly as I asked; did not try and sell me any other deals or fuck me about with any extra idle chit-chat.
Then she asked if there is anything else she could help me with, I told her that I hadn't received my documents in the post from my new bike. So she said she would send out a replacement set as it had been over 7 days since the policy was taken out.
All in all a very pleasant experience considering some bad experiences I have had dealing with insurance companies before.
And to top it off the phone call only lasted 4 mins (and that includes the automated options at the start of the phone call). Got my 2 problems sorted, and some cash back as well and I left the phone call wondering why other companies cant be so efficient.
So big for Dial Direct. |
