Hi Guys,
Weird issue with some LED indicators...
Bought to replace my big OEM ones and when i set the left ones on, they light up and the relay clicks once then they just stay on (although very dim)

Its like the opposite to the fast flash problem everyone usually has...

So i bought a new relay (3 pin, square) to fit my bike specifically for LED indicators and they dont light at all with that!

So it would seem its the opposite to having too much power that need resisting but i need more power?

The OEM relay is an electronic relay not a physical one (according to an electrician) so it should work!

My OEM indicators flash normally!

Or maybe whilst my bike been off the road my batter is a little flat?

Any sparks on board??
Thanks

You need to work out the total wattage needed to light the LEDS. Most normal bulb types are 21w or something, that could be a brake light figure, I can't remember. But anyway, say they are 5w each then the relay needs to be 10w to power 2 at the same time. Most LED ones come with a resistor or something inside so they will go straight onto a normal relay. I suggest you clean all contacts and put the old relay back on. Make sure everything is connected tight and proper.

Earthing problem, check the polarity of each indicator and check the earths.

Ok so checked polarity and connections etc...
Still not working!
When I pop the led directly onto the battery it lights up, it's lit but not overly bright...
When I pop it on where it should be they light up very very dim without a flash.
I wonder if my bike auto steps the voltage down for indicators and maybe these indicators are already resisted? Therefor ending up with too little power to light them?
Any more ideas before I end up
Buying different ones?

If they're dim when connected to the battery, then the indicators are either broken, or just shit. Your bike won't step down voltage for indicators.

They light up when connected directly to the battery, they are bright enough to be usable but not superbright led's.
When connected via the relay where they should be they are very very dim (just visible) and the relay won't click.

Ive tried all 4 indicators and they are the same, also charged the battery up and it's full and it's a new battery (about 6 months old) and is a yuasa? Battery.

Also tried an lED relay with no luck.

I might just get bulbs again...

So... ive hooked up my rear LED indicators and my new LED integrated mirrors, still barely lighting up, changed the relay for an LED one, and nothing.

BUT with normal relay + LED indicators + 1 normal bulb indicator (each side) = all working but flashing too quick. Shocked

So if i have 2 LED indicators and 1 OEM bulb indicator on each side it will work and powers up all the indicators properly.

What do i need to fix this for good? it not the battery and LED relay doesnt seem to fix it, do i need a load resistor? and if so what one??

HELP!
