Hiya,

Looking for a new bike at the moment (coming from a Honda Transalp and a previous Aprilia Pegaso).

I use it for commuting every day and touring with a pillion on weekends as well so even if it's not the most convenient I'd like to try a sports bike for a while Smile

The problem I'm having is that I'm researching for racks for top boxes and the top case itself and can't find anything?! Do you guys know of any brand, specific model that can be fit in a ZX6R?

What year bike is it?

I know there are rack/topbox combinations for the ZX9R. The late 90s and early 00's ZX6R have a very similar rear end to the 9.

although the zx6r and 9r do look the same at the rear i can conferm they are totally different and share no parts on the rear the seats are wider on the 9 as is the sub frame and plastics so a 9r one will not be a direct fit

It is a J2 model from 2002.

I was always wondering how's that sports bikes didn't have a top box installed (it's one of the most useful things I've found in my transalp Smile ), and now I think I know the answer.... it's impossible to find it even if you're willing to get one :S

I'll keep checking for a few days in case I find something online.

Pls let me know if there's something that fits in that model

Renntac do a rack that will fit your bike. Then you need a universal topbox and a plate to fit the box too.

Any idea about where you can get a plate that will fit there? I'm going to google and see if I see something but if you know a specific model pls let me know

I read about the fire before from another post, let's see if things are ok with them soon.

But many thanks for the info, I was not sure that they even existed so at least I know they do now.

Cheers mate!

Get a Givi simply, they come with a plate included.

Do givi not sell a suitable rack? They seem to have items for any recent (10yrs ish or under) that would be nicer looking that the renntec.

that's what surprised me, I didn't see a suitable Givi rack for it. So I think it's a matter of mixing the renntec rack and a givi top box... but as you said, I'm not quite sure about the final design

Givi did a rack for it, but whether you can find one now is another matter. I'm seen them available in the US for around $200

I have a small rack for my ZX6r (late 90`s model) that I dont use cos I think it spoils the bike and it`s not very big?

So they are about, mine came with the bike when I bought it.

Looks to be a discontinued model. I found the same with a XJ600.

I ended up with a renntec rack and a krauser topbox, didnt look to bad at all.
