ok trying to get this example program to run ( this is before i even start making my version) and i cant get the stupid thing to run.

anybody done/read java internet game programming in 21days?!?

the server program runs in dos prompt but when i run the client ie the html file with the applet in they don't connect ??!

On my Xp machines it has a fit about security so i using win98 pc.

while i am at it can i run server file on my ntl webspace?? how do you get it to do that do i need a webserver to do that ?!?!

It's unlikely that your NTL webspace will have JSP/Servlet support. What server are you trying to use? I think that I used Tomcat for servlets before, but that was quite a while ago so don't remember too many detail off the top of my head.

I was running on Windows 2000, and I needed Zonealarm (or any other Firewall software I guess) to be running so that I could "allow" the server to run.

Also, unless you fiddle around the settings, you may have to put your packages/beans/classes in a certain folder within the server installation directory.
