I posted about this two weeks ago and not one person replied.

All I can say is, pay more attention, you all missed out BIG time.

The legends that are Agostini, Kenny Roberts, Sammy Miller, Trever Nation, Terry Ryhmer, Steve Baker, Scott Smart, Chas Mortimer, Dave Croxford, and a whole load more old skool riders (and some new school) were there and were happy to talk to anyone and everyone. I even got a personal wave from Agostini and a mention from Murry Walker over the tannoy system whilst on track.

The bikes were stunning. Im not a classic bike fan, but with a great mix of 80's/90's race bikes and replicas, there was something for everyone. The weather was stunning, great bunch of like minded people all with a common interest, without the chavs.

Seeing millions of pounds worth of bikes being used, and used hard on track was a great experience. Some of these chaps were not hanging around either. And a great little race between Roberts and Baker during the Yamaha display (well, it wasn't a display, it was a race really Laughing ). Even the Norton display was a mini race (x3 JPS, and x2 Duckhams). God I miss the bike sounds. This event really put in place that modern IL4's sound so so so boring and screamy and whiney compared to all these bikes on display.

Our Benelli stand got a great reception and was constently being asked questions. When we arrived my dad and I even got asked for a photoshoot for a new book coming out next year covering motorcycles. Fingers crossed our bikes will be in it. They seemed very very interested and spent ages doing a photoshoot.

I went to this event with a "this is gonna be a bit boring" attitude, but my word, what a fantastic weekend. Such a variety of motorcycles and people. Anyone who enjoys motorcyles, should get their asses there next year. Last time I went I was a boy, and it was still being held at Brands Hatch (Mallory Park now).

Im still uploading photos, but i'll post a few here, and put my link to the rest at the bottom. I've got some videos to sort out, but I need some time for that.

All i can say is, you lot missed out!!!

Feel free to ask any questions or pop back later when the rest have uploaded. Once i've sorted the video out, i'll get those up too (Nortons, classic, and some onboard footage of my dads bike, following me sometimes... My word, my style is terrible, I REALLY need to work on that at Lydden in Sept!!!). I wont get to those until the weekend as my old mans having major surgery on weds, and I want him to look at the footage first before letting the online world see it Smile

Tell me more about the Sei with a CBX engine in it, please.

Never heard of anyone swapping a IL6 for another. Especially on something as specialised at that bike. My dad was going to get one, but he got a Laverda instead.

Nahh, the Benelli Sei is actually a 6 cyclinder by Benelli. They done a 750cc and a 900cc. The 750cc has 6 exhausts, and the 900cc doesn't. The 750cc also revs a lot higher. I know Kawasaki tried to build a 6 cyclinder as well, but it wasn't meant to be very good (only know this as I saw one at the show this weekend). The Benelli engines share 1 carb between 2 cylinders (so 3 carbs), where as the CBX engine has an individual carb per cyclinder.

My old man has a concourse CBX1000. I got to ride it last weekend. What a fantastically smooth engine. Very impressed. Unlike the brakes which are awful Laughing Both classics get ridden a lot. Should be at the big Kent show on the 7th August.

Also want to say to take my "you lot missed out" comments as a bit of fun, with no malice or ill intention meant. Just I know how the internet can take a few jesty comments in the wrong context Smile

Dads CBX-Z 1000. fully restored.

His Z900. Fully original, bar the paint, which is a later spec paintwork which he much prefers.

The Honda CBX club were also there (where that orange Martin 6 cyclinder was) with about 15 bikes.

Tried to spot what was MZ on it.

Block and crankcase cover wern't MZ, chassis and wheels etc wern't. Can you spot anything?

Went ok on track, just a bit slow on the straights (not unusal for a 250cc single, old man raced them so know they arn't quick Laughing ).

I was there too, had a great day. Loved the sprinting and the Nortons.

If my pictures are any good I'll add them here but I'm pretty rubbish with a camera to be honest Embarassed

Twas a great weekend. I'll be going back next year for sure.

I've hosted some videos online from the front of my dads bike. We had some parade track sessions so got a couple of videos.

Can't get on youtube at work, so i'll try to link them from my phone later.
