ive heard ducati 916 forks fit on the cagiva mito.

question is, do they fit on the cagiva yokes, or do the ducati yokes fit the cagiva head? worst case will be apparopriate bearings i would think?

anyways, this is an idea for a project, the forks will probably have new springs to match the weight of the bike etc.

People do it after fitting a different engine, but there's no point whatsoever in doing it to the 125.

Presuming you don't have the early Mito non usd forks then theres no point, the standard usd forks on the Mito are more than good enough, by make and substance.

Spend the cash elsewhere on the bike, or buy newer standard forks of ebay if yours are ' tired ' ... about 80 quid. Thumbs Up

by project i mean putting a slightly heavier engine in it. as far as i know the standard forks cant be upgraded. so a replacement is the only other option.

Depends on the weight of the engine and your weight, added to the power the bike will produce and how it delivers it. afaik Thumbs Up

I think all forks can be upgraded to some extent. Heavier oil, stiffer springs, spacers etc. If it's a 350 Yamaha emgine you're using, I believe, as mentioned above, the standard forks are fine. I have a nice set of Ducati forks with Brembo calipers that, if they don't work out on a bike I have, I will be flogging. Thing about Ducati forks is that the forks themselves, don't sit very far forward to the stem so you don't get much room for the tank on full lock. More of a problem on some bikes than others. However, they do have really nice adjustable lock stops cast into the bottom yoke.

I'm using a ktm single. So slight increase in weight. Not as much as the rd350 I think. But the cagiva forks are one side bound an the other rebound. Not much can be done with that. I know people use ducati forks but not sure if the forks fit the standard yokes. The adjustment will obviously be a welcome upgrade. The HP will be just over double and the torque at least triple.

The cagiva has a crap lock to lock anyway. That won't be any different

Let me know if your not using your forks then.

I have a Cagiva River for a while, and that had incredible suspension. Not sure if the forks are the same as on the Mito, but good size USD ones on a lightweight 500cc single. Would probably do the job if the current ones aren't up to, and being Cagiva already they stand a better chance of bolting in.

I can try the standard forks out. That's obviously the first thing to try.

I take it no one knows if they fit the cagiva yokes or not then?

You use 125 forum, you can ask Rob Mito mundo, or Squirel who may sell and or know ...

Also, you can change the type of fork oil in the standard ones to get a different effect, i don't know if that is or would be pointless. Thumbs Up

Also MME are doing a 2 stroke 250 mito, ask them what they intend to do ref the forks.
