Hi Guys,

I was clipped by a stupid motorist the other day and I ended up high side crashing about 35km. Evil or Very Mad
The bike had crash sliders and protected 85% of my right hand side fairings , however the crank cased took a heavy blow and its broken………

A few days later I rode the bike back to my mechanics and it wasn’t looking good at all.
We stripped all the fairings off the right hand side, undid the crankcase cover, and noticed that I have broken the crankcase down the bottom...!!!

The bike has now been taken by my insurance company to be examined.

I’ve had a few people say that it would be a total – loss and that I should say goodbye to the bike.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Is this the end of my R6 Crying or Very sad ?

Any advice would appreciate.

Swapping a crankcase is a big job, would be easier and if you are paying for labour, cheaper to just swap the engine.

It'll probably be a write off, fairings cost a fortune and stupid amounts of labour is involved with the engine work, your bike is quite new though so they might repair it but don't hold your breath.. Ask them how much they want for the wreck, you might get an engine fairly cheap, in which case swap the engine out and keep riding it.
