They rust/tarnish very quick, the fuel pumps bugger up and are very dodgy (With no recall) I personally don't like the front faring/headlight combo.

But yea rust to buggery (ACF-50) and fuel pumps.

I got mine new from a Honda dealer. My first bike and, although I'm looking at getting something bigger having passed my test, I still love it. Keep an eye on the oil level, mpg is fantastic - even with a fatboi like me on it.

People go on about the fuel pumps, sure some fail - mine did - on the hottest day of last year. Replaced under warranty.

If you really mistreat it then rust can be an issue. Mine was left damp in a shed for over six months and it had some surface rust which just comes off by rubbing damp tin foil on it.

I've owned one a CBF125 from new, bought it in december 2012 and i've done about 4,500miles on it.

As ScardeyCat said, keep an eye on the oil level as it gets below minimum level pretty quick. I have to top up my cbf about every 2weeks with about 100ml of 10w30 4T oil.

Apart from checking the oil all the time, it's an amazing bike. I've never had any problems that were the bikes fault (only problem was chain and sprocket and thats because i only lubed it once in 4,300miles - so my fault), it's very cheap on petrol, spend about £16 and get about 230miles+ in return.
It's a good size for a 125 as well, not as skinny as the older cbr's and not as short either. It's a nice size and very light. It's also easy and comfortable to ride.
One thing i do regret though... is buying it brand new, buy one that's like a few months old and still has warranty left, it's a lot cheaper. Thumbs Up

I've had two CBF125s, 2010 (MA) and 2012 (MB), the latter I've had from new and still ride.

I can generally say good things about the CBF125 except for its material and build quality. I've had show stopping quality issues with both bikes, the new one in particular; the exhaust pipe fell off when a bolt snapped, the steering head bearings seized and of course the fuel pump was dodgy. Plus the 'minor' things like a defective seat lock, excessive oil consumption and rust problems. All that within 1500 miles!

I think the new 2013 CBF125 should be a bit more rust resistant than the older models; much of the exposed metal that easily rusted has been painted black and it has a new belly pan which should deflect a bit of road crap away from the bike's innards.

Also, from what I gather, my 2012 CBF was amongst the last to be fitted with a bad fuel pump, I'm not aware of any CBF125s newer than mine (Sep-2012) having any fuel pump issues.
