Hi there, I have a full uk car license with class 2 truck entitlement and currently ride a 125 on L plates and a CBT. I am going to Malta on holiday in November and wondered if I take my test when over there would it be valid in the Uk upon my return? Many thanks

Technically, i'd say yes, but it isn't as clear cut as that, you have to register it as a community license and it's valid for 12 months, and at any time you will have to apply to exchange it for a UK one. You can call 0300 790 6801 to confirm.

You can ride / drive on a foreign licence in the UK for 6 months before applying for a UK licence.

Depending on the country of the test, depends if its a simple swap or a resit of the test.

The UK licence allows you to drive anywhere within EUROPE. But I know a Spanish licence does not allow you to drive in the UK for more than 6 months.

NOTE: the 6 months covers holidays. If you admit that you are now living in the UK and have been for more than a month, then you void the 6 months rule, as you are UK resident NOT holiday maker.
