Hi all,

Just thought I'd mention something which (to me) is amazing and awesome.

According to their FAQ here: https://www.aviva.co.uk/motorcycle-insurance/frequently-asked-questions.html you do not have to declare car accidents to them.

For me, who has had two car accidents in the last couple of years, this makes them ~£400 a year cheaper than anyone else... although they seem expensive on higher insurance groups, and if I had no car claims they would not be the cheapest!

They also haven't popped up on any of my (many, many) comparison site searches so I thought others may not have noticed them.

Hm, that worries me....

The FAQ clearly says you don't have to declare it....

when purchasing a motorcycle insurance policy, you do NOT need to declare your accidents in a car/vehicle - This is because they are two different experiences(as i have been told by Aviva).Vice Versa.

that was of interest to me as a claim on my car insurance from a non fault accident pushes my premium up from around £300 to £340 which pissesme off a little! So I did a quote with Aviva,,

£2248 Rolling Eyes

Aviva said "dont bother mentioning your car claims, we dont care, wel just charge you 2 grand extra to cover it off Thumbs Up "

Do I need to advise you of claims/ and convictions if they relate to my car?

Yes you do, all of this information is used to work out your premium.

If they then change the rules, as per the other thread on ins and the poster above... Talk to FOS and report them......

Never ASSUME anything where insurance is concerned...

All it will do is

Make a ASS of U & ME

Yeah, they seem massively expensive on most bikes I am quoting on...

However, if I go for another new ER-6f, they will charge me £833 rather than the next cheapest I can find which is £1342.

I guess it depends, it seems that even if I quote with no accidents and a pile of no claims I get massive quotes from Aviva for sportsbikes, and even older bikes that are higher groups (e.g. a thundercat..)

Heck. Try the Meerkats.
I just got Fully Comp Insurance for £131.
I only have 1 years NCB due to a £3000 accident 2009.
