In terms of restriction, ANYTHING that restricts the bike to a power output of 33bhp makes it a legal restriction, the law states that you cannot ride anything that has a net power output of more than 33bhp and that's it.

You could look on eBay for some washers for the carbs which would probably be the favoured method of restriction (unless it's the newer model with fuel injection). Otherwise it will be a throttle stop (horrible) or an ECU/method of retarding the ignition timing (worst).

Just pick the cheapest that works is the best way to do it and whatever you do, do not buy one from F.I. International.

thorrotle restricts - I'm not really sure what that is.

but a throttle restriction would be fine as far as the insurance is concerned.

If it has carbs then it can be restricted with a washer, if you can find the measurements of the washers off the internet you could make a set yourself or get a local engineering company to knock you up a set for a fraction of the cost of an FI kit

There is no legal requirement as to how it is restricted or to have a certificate to prove it is restricted. a dyno printout would sufficient to prove the it does not EXCEED 33hp

The are a number of threads regarding this i would advise you to use the search function to look for them.

Be sure to make an unboxing video when the restricters arrive though Wink

Throttle restrictions are just throttle stops, they prevent the throttle from exceeding a certain amount by stopping the rotation of the throttle.

Usually done by a plate installed on the throttle bodies/carburettors or by a plate in the throttle assembly itself.

I and my bro use washers between the carbs and engine. the easiest and cheapest way to restrict a motorcycle. If you have fuel injection, i pitty you.
