anyone on here good with headlamps / electrics?

am wanting to change the whole front end on my bike and am looking at getting a headlamp unit from a breakers for a cb600/1000, 2007 onwards ( the tall double lamp unit ) - does anyone know do these headlamps use any kind of special " unit / starter / coils / ecu type box " to run them or do they just plug straight onto the existing headlamp wiring?

existing lamp is an old traditional 12v 60/55 single headlamp.

( and im not looking for the hid type headlight as i know these need some kind of ecu box to drive them )
