Whilst I don't want a spoiler, can somebody here tell me if the plot improves?

It peaked around season three and ended with the worst CGI I’ve seen since the 1980’s Laughing

Has anybody started watching Star Trek Discovery yet on Netflix? Trailers look good but it didn't get great reviews from the critics.

I'd be astonished if the scrapings from $8 million per episode couldn't be cobbled together into a 60 second climax of marketing porn.

I thought they looked crap Razz I was expecting a preachy multi-cultural melting pot, when in the future we're meant to have moved beyond all that shite. There were elements in the first couple of episodes but I'm gonna give it a bit longer and see where it goes.

There's only so many they can do, given that we won the war on drugs in 1992.

Has anyone watched "The Orville"?

Kinda like Star-trek / family guy.

Watch one episode so far. A few lols so far, will give another episode a go.

Watched the first two episodes. It's like the bits of Family guy where you're not sure whether they're taking the piss or not, it's basically a less serious version of Star Trek without being a direct piss-take. Better than Star Trek Discovery though...

Not impressed TBH, feels like they're turning it into one of those on-going mystery type things (like the Mist), when Star Trek has traditionally been a one (or maybe two) episodes and you're done with that story line series. It focuses too much on one character as well. I might give it one more episode...

It had a start offering potential further promise, but I think the above is about the best that can be offered.

In a positive, however; it's prompted me to dig out a copy of 'Hyper Drive', which was massively better space-comedy.

The trip to Ireland is best forgotten, it's by far the lowpoint of the series.

I skipped the Ireland series.

Well actually I thought sod this shit, turned it off and didn't watch it again for the best part of 2 years. When I came back to it, I skipped to the next series and carried on.

Hyper Drive is ace, and imo ten times better than e,g, red dwarf. Too bad there're only two seasons.

I liked the irish series

was more down to earth and gritty

but nothing like island is meant to be
