The current new series - I presume you're referring to that as US version, rather than their being a separate UK version of this new series.

Yep, UK version was only 4 episodes between 2010-2014.
May give the US version a go then.

Be aware that the stories and characters bear no connection to the books - however, I do feel it's well captured the 'spirit' of the books, albeit from a different angle.

I hope that was 'tongue in cheek'. Wink

I have never yet seen a film that is better than the book it is made from.

And certainly not more 'engaging'.

Often being quite busy I prefer dubbed, so that I can be doing other things (like posting on BCF Razz ).

Can't stand dubbed films, you lose all the emotion of the actors. Anyway being a Kodi w&nker most of the time I muddle through foreign bits in films trying to get the jist of what they're saying.

*huff*

Well I'm almost done with my Christmas sofa dossing, and have at least managed to finish off with At Home with Lilibet and Phil, managed to shoe horn in the Christmas Edition of Victoria, along with (something else) - I dont know what, the dog-sitting household had Sky and I cant remember what I watched.

I shall have to come back to this thread and remind myself I want to watch that Mind thingie on Netflix

If I'm not back on this thread within a fortnight, send a search party. I will try and stop being so frantically busy/behind/lazy/procrastinating (unlikely).

A thousand potential projects I wanna start, not enough time in all the world.

This week's edition of Hellkat's Hornboxes includes:

1. Prince Ernst (Albert's brother), classic European lounge lizard charm, shame about the pox
2. Matt Smith as Prince Philip, posh totty in white naval shorts, cor.

Passing thoughts whilst watching:
* Did Prince Albert really have a, well, a Prince Albert, do you think?
* Is that why Victoria went into such long mourning when he popped his clogs a bit earlier than expected? Personally I'm not a fan of having my insides ripped out from the inside, ta but no ta.

* If Matt Smith with a beard manages to look remarkably like Prince Harry does now, then surely Harry must not be James Hewitt's after all. He most definitely could be Prince Philip's grandson, or at least Matt Smith's ... Thinking No, wait ...

The former I remember - I wish I could remember the actual french term for said item. The latter I don't. Anyway - okay book, great film.

Also, I do seem to remember there being a bit of coverage about arse smuggling in the fillum. That's how hoffman;s character manages to bribe everyone iirc.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson

Very odd, sometimes really funny and JCVD doesn't mind taking the Mickey out of himself, other times plain weird.

The Good Doctor (2017) - 8/10
Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates from the Bates motel) is an exceptional autistic surgeon. If I'm not mistaken, it's from the same team that did House M.D.

Anyway, the show is actually quite well made, with good cast. It was odd to see Freddie Highmore being a medical doctor at first, after all he was Norman Bates prior to that. Antonia Thomas got a part in it, which was a nice surprise, she did a good job, still nice to look at.

Fringe - 9/10 ''final score''
I finished the Fringe, as a whole thing I give it 9/10. Great cast, great chemistry, entertaining. As said by Roger, the 3rd season was crap and I only kept watching because I knew there was more to go. And it was worth it in the end. But, I must say, if I was watching this on Tv, when it was out, I would probalby be done with the whole series after a few episodes from the very poor 3rd season.

Ghosted - 5.5/10
A comedy tv series about ghosts/paranormal stuff with Craig Robinson and Adam Scott. What to say, it was silly, but fun. Enjoyed.

Just watched the first three episodes of The Orville.
It's pretty decent, it's an adult(ish) humour version of Star Trek.
Seth Mcfarlane strikes again with a seemingly decent trio of opening shows. I'm hoping it stays as good, something to keep an eye on for sure.

I don't think I want to finish House.
I have a secret crush on him.

But then I didn't want to finish Dexter either.

I have never been to Royston Vasey.
It doesn't seem to be the sort of place I'd settle to.

I've been accustomed in the past to having too many of those sort of people as members of my household. I'm simply not interested in revisiting the breed within a TV series.
(similar reason for never having watched Sons of Anarchy, either Laughing )

I saw these also. Strikes a pretty good balance between humour (albeit mercan) and serious.

Trek influence obvious with enough changed to avoid the lawsuit but not so bad. Worth a watch.
