Toxic levels of disdain? I said she watches some tripe.

Get over yourself, you cock.

People talk about the dangers of 'Social Meeja' and stuff on the news, but the TRUE danger of 'Social Meeja' is not one that is commonly mentioned.

The danger is that people seem to think that their opinion is important.

It's like when someone posts a picture of something on Facebook, and some people like it, some people hate it, some people will criticize it, but others will actually criticize everything around it, the setting, the camera settings, the background, the font used for comments... f*cking everything. It doesn't matter.

It Doesn't Matter!

We come on forums to have a bit of a laugh, and get away from the offline world for a moment, not to have everything criticised in a pointless way with no decent argument or analysis.

This thread is about TV show box sets and what individuals like. What is the benefit of a blanket comment saying one persons choices are bad?

I may as well come on here and say all TV is @rse, and movies are all terrible, forums are sh*te, the written word is f*cking pointless and the internet is full of dullards. Not only that, Humanity is a waste of skin, and anyone who disagrees with me is no better than a pulsating boil on the sphincter of a non existent deity.

Future Man - 7.5/10

Well this, this was actually very good. It's a comedy, sci-fi, action tv series about the end of the world and how to prevent it with time travel + the butterfly effect stuff.

Josh Hutcherson was excellent in it, this part felt like written specifically for him. The supporting cast Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson were also good, although they had some very odd moments, the kind of stuff you ask yourself why would they even put this in the show. You'd be able to tell what I mean by that.

TL; DR: I had a good laugh, it reminded me of the Back to the future series. Also, I did enjoy the 25 to 30 minutes episodes. Many of the tv shows I watched recently had 50+ minutes episodes and it does get tiring sometimes.

I just watched Firefly. Belatedly. So stupidly belatedly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3cyIT9eUew Laughing I liked Serenity but didn't really take to Firefly for some reason.

I think Serenity was written to close Firefly out when it was binned after the first series by the studio. I saw it before I watched the Firefly series and it did sort of spoil it for me as well.

Remind me again (whoever it was) why I am going to like Mad Men...? I'm up to S1E5 and I've yet to find a character I can relate to, except the head honcho (the one who makes them take their shoes off).

Can't stand the main character, and his Mrs is neurotic, although I like her outfits.

The constant smoking, by the way, is doing my turret in.

I've been given up 10 years now, after nearly 30 years of smoking myself ... but this is not a "they shouldn't do that" kind of thing, cos I don't care, been there done that, your lungs are your own affair*.

It's just how ... EVERY scene, almost every new camera angle, they're lighting a fag: "ching click fizzle"

I thought (when I was) that I had a bad smoking habit (30 a day).

Did they really smoke that much back then?
If so, then ... Fuck. Shocked

*my stock response to everyone except my daughter, who I nag Laughing

If you're not enjoying it, fuck it off.

I didn't really "like" any of the characters either - but gradually bits and bobs of ahem "narrative arc" and character-development got me into it.

I think the thing about the characters is that you're not supposed to like them. They're all fuckers, pretty much. Which in itself is actually sort of refreshing.

But yeah - fuck persevering with shit. Not worth it when there's so much else out there to have a dekko at. Like, I just binned Suits the other day. Didn't get through the second series.

I didn't mind them.
Young Sheldon is probably better if you're a big TBBT fan though.

Futureman definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it and like Dirk Gently.

Not a box set, but just started (re-)watching Angelo's. It's a Greek cafe off Trafalgar Sq, with various funny people in it like Miranda Hart - yes she was funny (check out Hyperdrive - she's great in that, for instance), and a fave of mine, Simon Farnaby (Boosh, Horrible Histories, etc.).

I can only assume they didn't expect to get a second series, then had to bodge the storyline Razz

I really enjoyed the first two series, as a less-serious antidote to The Walking Dead. Stopped watching series 3 though, there was a good episode with ICP but it seemed to have lost a bit of the humour.

Eh. Every episode in season 2 was an "homage to/pastiche of $OTHER_SHOW, but with zombies". I mean, Rozwell?
