PostPosted: 20:14 - 03 Mar 2004    Post subject: NSR125RR the difference? Reply with quote

Hi all, I am a newbie and I am getting an NSR125-RR. I would like to know what the difference is between it and the NSR125-R.

Also, I would like to know if there is any difference in how I will need to de-restrict it when I have done my full test.

Any help is very much appreciated

There won't be any difference in how you de-restrict them. The difference only comes between UK spec and import models, the UK spec being your best bet.

The difference between the R's is probably to do with year of manufacture.

As far as I know, RR - import bikes, are restricted in the CDI unit as well as carb and can. They may not be restricted in the gearing but I'm not sure.

Hi

From normal Honda naming conventions it is an NSR125R, model year R hence NSR125RR.

All the best

Cheers for your help, NSR kid is right to my knowledge about it being an import. i found this page through www.nsr125.com, but thanks anyway. If anyone wants to show me what sort of exhausts to get for my bike, then feel free to let me know.

Thanks again

The standard one and de-restrict it. It is road legal, make the same amount of power as a £250 aftermarket one, and you won't have to tell your insurance company.
