Missus has informed me she has lost her passport. Now we go away 7 weeks on wednesday. Is it going to be possible to get one sent out in time?

I think the normal service takes 6 weeks, and there is a £112 one week service. But will we be fine with the regular service and does it take the full 6 weeks. I know with replacement driving licenses they say 2 weeks but it usually takes 8/9 days max.

I'm sure if you go to the actual Passport place, which I've heard is in Liverpool? Could be many? but you can get it earlier.

Thats only for replacing a expired one. I tried it back in 2009. Just had a look and it takes up to 3 weeks.

Damn. Gl getting one

I'm sure me getting a completely brand new one only took 4 weeks max so a replacement shouldn't take the 3 weeks maximum.

You can get one swiftly at the passport office if you go there in person with the right paperwork, photos etc

They seem to have gotten their act together at the offices too. Been to Newport and Liverpool in recent months and no queuing for hours like it used to be

The Liverpool one doesn't like you parking your bike outside, gets you to take all your gear off, doesn't let you hang around in the waiting area for yore passport and tries to flog you another photo by saying the one yu have is too white.

Mine and the wife's were both expired, not lost, but they were turned round on the 14 day guaranteed service via the post office. Got them back in 9 days.

£75 per passport though.

GL!

Lost mine last year, a week before a trip. Went to Liverpool and did the fast-track 7 day service - passport arrived by courier the next day.

Pay the extra £35 for the 7 day service. That way you'll only have to wait a week before you learn that your application has been lost in the system and you'll still have plenty of time to apply for a replacement replacement.

I've just renewed mine, got it back in 18 days.

As I don't live in the UK anymore and the High Commission in Nicosia doesn't process passports anymore I had to post the lot off.

Guess where my new passport was processed, Spain FFS! Shocked

My daughter's passport had expired, so she sent it off with the normal PO checking service on the 11th - and her replacement turned up a few minutes ago, so 15 days later.

Renewed mine last month, came back in 3 weeks. Dodgy time of year though with all the holidays. Think i'd pay the extra for a quick turnaround.

Sent it all off through check and send service. Bloke at Passport office said 2 weeks max on the phone. Its just a case of updating the new photos and printing a new one. As all the details are on the system.

My Brand new adult Passport only took a month maximum and that was during peak Holiday season.
