Hi guys

*** Havent posted in a little while, not even sure if this is under the best section, and theres probably a proper site out there for this but... just wanted to get an idea of the value of my beloved hornet Very Happy

-
2001, Honda CB600f hornet
14,000 mileage
decent crash bungs
micron exhaust
givi screen fitted/easily removed
other mods too, im sure, but cant recall right now
-
average to good condition, but clocks are damaged/need replacing, and there are a couple dents on tank, although not too noticeable, unless youre looking for them!

could do with a light service/tlc, brakes
2 past owners
i think it was previously tracked, looking at the extra, old set of tyres i got with the bike.

ideal commuter or could be tracked

previous owner was legit, hence me forking out a hefty sum for this bike last year, with only 11000 on the clock, and was in a lot better condition overall (despite, still having the dents). he wouldnt come down from 2k Sad

** Also .....minus the damage (say if i put vapour digi clocks in and serviced the bike), how much would this bike be valued at roughly??

cheers in advance Thumbs Up
ride safe

I looked on the biketrade site...

Reckon without the clocks fixed you'd get £1500
Fixed...maybe £1600

Go on argue. Laughing Razz

You could get £1700 from a daft kid with too much money...but even daft kids can look through Eghey etc and get a rough selling price.

Do the current clocks still add miles to the odometer?

If not then that will affect the value a lot because noone will know if the mileage is even remotely accurate. Try and find some clocks with approximately the right mileage and replace them. (I know they cost a lot as they get damaged a lot).

yep, left side works fine, since the little slip up i had back in august! ive done a couple thousand miles on these clocks! Smile

still safe and very rideable. speedometer/odometer/lights/temp gauge all work. its just the rev counter got mashed internally, despite the silver casing being fine!

will try track down the pics later. i actually put some up on here a while back, as was asking advice on clocks, will try find links too.

thanks

most recent pics of bike and closeups of clocks etc.

...and no i am not the ol' "oh 'how much is my bike worth'" (in the attempt to hype the interest in selling it on eBay) kind of guy that i noticed someone mentioned in another thread Cool

This will be a sale to someone i know most likely. Got a couple people really interested. As i might even buy it back off them in the future!

sry in the delay

cheers Thumbs Up

These people who ask a bike's value in an attempt to pimp it on the 'Bay'... I ask you!!!!

If you know the people who are interested, you could ask them to make you an offer both with and without the clocks/tidying. You never know, they might be prepared to pay enough to not make fixing it worthwhile.

Now, anybody want to see a link to my bike again? lol

Well to give you a gauge I bought my 2001 hornet 600 5 months ago for £1500 and thought that was a bargain. The cheapest on Ebay at the moment is £1700.

Definitely get new clocks, they look rubbish!

Your not going to get a good price with them, maybe you can get a used set?

if its been tracked, I wouldnt want to buy it unless very cheap.

That's not something you should worry about, as long as the engine is looked after well i.e. serviced/oil change regularly there wont be a problem.

You think people don't spank their bikes more on the road? Laughing Laughing

Well, the missus bought her 2001 Hornet for 1250. No damage, standard trim apart from a Givi rack. That said, it had a higher mileage and was bought in February.

ye hornet clocks are so hard to get hold of these days, its crazy!

brand new from honda, theyre like 600 squid, and 2nd hand if im lucky with them having an ok mileage, between £150-250, or i go the digital clocks route, maybe vaypor, at around £100.

ive had an offer of £1400, so just reflecting on it for now.

cheers guys Thumbs Up
