Me and the GF spent a week in Cyprus last week.
Met up with Suntansid - Absolutely top bloke! Thumbs Up

We hired a little SymJet4 125cc scooter, and for a Chink scooter, I'd really recommend one to anybody. Was well impressed with it.

It was good for 100kph (70mph ish) and comfey for the pair of us to spend the holiday on.

I got it with only 100km on the clock, and when I took it back to him 5 days later, it had nearly 900km on the clock. Laughing
He didnt seem best pleased!

It wasn't a clubbing holiday as such, just a break from the UK, and a chance to have a look at the island, price of houses, and potential careers out there.

Having spent 4 years of my life living there in the past, and taking a handful of holidays there since, I'm pretty certain it's where I see myself in the next 2 years, on a permanent basis.

I have a good Cypriot friend called Pavlos, who owns a car accessories shop in a small village out there.
I'm looking to import a van to the island, and run a mobile mechanic service from his shop. I can also offer the service of bike and car recovery. As of yet, there are no "RAC" style companies on the island.

Here's a handful of pictures from the trip. Smile

Rox's Aunt and Uncle's house in Frenaros:

A key memory of when I lived there in 97-01 The Queen Vic pub in the Harbour:

The WEAPON we hired out! And a nice view from near Cape Greco:

Bit of Tomb stoning at cape Greco:

Bike belongs to my friend Pavlos. A Suzuki Landie. Will either take my pit bikes with me, and register them, or just buy one of these when I move there.

Which way to the beach!?!
This is Konnos Bay, it's a man-made beach. Absolutely beautiful!

Another shot of us having lunch at the Queen Vic. Notice the gut I am now packing thanks to this bloody office job. Embarassed

The Cyp's amaze me. It seems if they have a bike capable of out-running a police car, they will happily ride it with no plates on it. Even slick tyres etc! Laughing

Couple of bikes belonging to some wealthy Cyp's

Went for a drink at the harbor with Pavlos:

The Harbor is the home to the Black pearl. Laughing

For old time sake, we visited the airport behind Dhekelia garrison. My Dad built the runway when he served here in 97-01
https://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/283836_10150263520290606_506045605_7451319_5343253_n.jpg

On the Sunday, we rode to Larnaka to meet up with SuntanSid and his pals. He took us to a nice tavern in a small village, and treated us to a Meze and some good Cypriot grub! Very Happy
https://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/283087_10150263520450606_506045605_7451322_3099808_n.jpg

Stopping off at the Saltlakes on the way home:
https://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/281305_10150263520615606_506045605_7451325_7660418_n.jpg

Cessac Beach. The Armed forces local beach and cafe.
Home to the best Fish and Chips on the island! Very Happy
https://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/285087_10150263521390606_506045605_7451339_5039673_n.jpg

Sandy Bay where we did our scuba dive:
https://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/281283_10150263522145606_506045605_7451351_4202932_n.jpg

Then we did a 60 minute dive. Could only go to 6m as it was Rox's first dive, and I left my Padi openwater papers at home.
https://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/281516_10150264116205606_506045605_7455629_3913304_n.jpg

Then the following day, we went to Macronissos beach, where my scoot was conveniently knocked over, and the mirror snapped off. Rolling Eyes
So I gave Pavlos a call, he told me to come over to his village.
We waited at his shop while of of his Cyp mates took my bike to a welder in the next Village to have it fixed for me. Very Happy

While we waited, the power in his village was turned off for 2 hours due to the explosion at the power station. So to pass the time, Pavlos taught me how to play the game Tavli. It's what all the Cypriot men play in the local coffee shops.

On our last night on the island, Rox's Aunt and Uncle took us out for a meal at the Lime Light. Absolutely beautiful restaurant. I would recommend it to anybody who goes to Ayia Napa!
Live music, Cypriot dancing and the best food I've ever tasted!
https://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/285548_10150263522810606_506045605_7451373_7419155_n.jpg

We also went clubbing in Napa, but it wasnt really of much interest to either of us.
It was full of young idiots getting very drunk and acting like complete douches!

That is all!

Suzuki Landie? Haha. What a piece of shit. Saying that, I'd love to have one!! Looks kinda fun.

Ps: I expect that picture will resurface in several years as part of a 'babes on bikes' thread.

Cant be that bad, they seem to cope in Cyprus, and there are plenty of them!

Here's more evidence, of Cyprus last Sunday, it was the hottest day of the year, so far, at 99 degrees. My back tyre was shagged anyway but I managed to blister it on the way home. Whistle

Here's the bikes we used:-

My CBR600, battle scarred as you can see.

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/CBR6.jpg

This is my friend, Dereks, ER5, bought as a front end write off for less than a hundred Euro!

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/ER5.jpg

Mate Phil's, Honda Valkyrie, a sea of chrome, (and rust apparently). It's a naked Goldwing in reality, 1520cc, flat 6!

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/VALKYRIE.jpg

Binges' Scoot

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/SCOOT.jpg

All parked up

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/allbikes.jpg

In the Taverna, left to right, Rox, Binge, Phil, Derek.

https://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu172/Troodos-Pool-Guy/MEAL.jpg

Notice how I, skillfully managed to stay out of all the photos.

If you're going to swoop so far off topic to make a stab at me, then at least get it right. Thumbs Up

Phoenix, nearly all the Cyp's have bikes, it's the most common mode of transport over there.
The problem is, questioning your own safety by riding along side Cyp's on their bikes. Laughing

They all have stretched swing arms, and really do have no road sense at all. It's quite entertaining to watch though.

As for the Sunday being the hottest day. Yes it was! Super f*cking hot. Shocked

Well it's rude not answering a question, and in the time on the forum you've taken plenty pot shots at me yourself, so I'll ask again, is it the same one that shagged a bloke that was above her? No pun intended...

Half the reason I split with her. Thats another thread though. Shocked

Yes, on reflection I would say Phil is livin' the dream.
He, virtually, wrote the "Valkyrie" off a couple of years ago, somehow he did a deal with the insurance company and they fixed it. It's got the "Flat 6" badges on the tank but only because one of the originals was irreparable.

Sounds like a car when it starts up, it's a heavy old lump though!
